Is your clothing worth the price?
You could buy cheaper clothing from your local mall, it's true, but how long
will it last? And would it feel comfortable? What's the quality level? There is
a reason why other garments are cheap: because they are not worth more.
You're probably thinking "If I am willing to pay more, at least I can get
some luxury brand name clothing".
Again, true. But how much more are you willing to pay just for the brand name?
And how many of the brand name price their products based on their quality? Just
go to the mall and try on a few garments.
We did try it. Many times. And honestly, we realized that the pride of wearing a
recognized brand name did not live up to it's reputation.
You see,
sometimes you get something that feels good and lasts a long time and looks
great. But most of the time, it is just a little unique detail and the label
that you paid for. And so the corporation gets fatter and richer. We don't spend
a lot of money in marketing, fancy ads or private jets. We spend it on good
fabric, good manufacturing and good sewing patterns.
We believe that even though good things are not cheap, they also don't have to be exorbitantly overpriced.
We
use very high quality fabric, made in Japan and imported directly from our
supplier in Japan.
Most people imagine Japanese fabric that the kimonos are made of. But that's just the exotic myth. Think
Italian type fabric at Japanese quality. No need to explain the quality of any Japanese products, you
know it already.
We use European inspired designs and patterns for a clean look and great fit.
Just try it on and you'll understand what we mean.
But I can't see it and try it on, what if I don't like it?
We understand and agree.
That's why if you don't like the clothing you bought, send it back, exchange
it or just get a refund. See our returns
and exchange policy.

What is the green category?
Our GREEN line of products is our answer to global warming and the effort to
protect the environment.
If you are a strong believer in protecting the earth, we could not agree more.
Our humble contribution to the environment protection efforts is reflected in
the bamboo t-shirts. Read on and you will find the answers to why bamboo is so
great and how bamboo clothing helps preserve our planet's beauty.
Where are your garments made?
We strongly believe in human rights and we are against sweatshops anywhere in
the world.
That's why we produce all of our clothing in the United States,
with fabric made in Japan.
Japan is well known for the excellent conditions
workers are provided. It is also well known as a leader in environmental
protection efforts.
Although manufacturing our clothing in the U.S. is
more costly to us than mass producing in China or other developing countries,
there are good reasons why we chose this path:
- We contribute to the American economy
- We can closely monitor the manufacturing process to ensure the high quality standards that you expect (small quantities allow us to ensure that each garment is defect free and abides by our specifications)
- We provide jobs for the American people, here at home.
So yes, we are proud to say that our products are "Made in U.S.A."!
What's the problem with conventional cotton?
Growing conventional cotton is particularly rough on the environment.
Cotton is the largest crop behind corn in the United States and consumes 10% of the world's pesticides (that's two billion pounds) and 25% of the world's insecticides (that's a lot!!!).
Cotton growers typically use many hazardous chemicals including aldicarb, phorate, methamidophos and endosulfan. There are at least 20 types of organophosphate and carbamate pesticides, many of which were originally developed as toxic nerve agents during World War II. These chemicals harm people, wildlife and the environment.
In addition, conventional cotton requires a tremendous amount of water to grow: 106,000 cubic feet of water per acre. That's a lot of water.
Why bamboo clothing?
It is softer than your softest cotton shirt.
But bamboo is wood. How is this going to be comfortable to wear as clothing? The wood is pulverized to separate the natural fibers and the resulting fabric is soft, even softer than cotton. It's silky. There's no roughness to it at all. In fact, the material has been compared to a silk/cashmere blend. Bamboo t-shirts feel smooth against your body and move with you beautifully.
It ontains 70% bamboo, 30% organic cotton.
It wicks moisture
and it has antimicrobial properties.
Bamboo has anti-bacterial properties which inhibit body odor. Bamboo garments wick away moisture and have double the absorbency of cotton. When you wear a bamboo cloth, you stay dry, and your odor is pulled away from your body and released into the air.
It is made from the fastest growing plant on earth.
Because bamboo grows so quickly, it is a resource that is not only sustainable, but also gives back to the environment.
Beyond the environment, there are many benefits for the people wearing bamboo t-shirts. The material you are wearing is fed by rain. Just rain.
Your garment didn't need to be bathed with water resources we can't afford. It wasn't saturated with pesticides or fertilizers. It grew naturally, with the sun, the rain, the stars and the moon. Not only that, but everything about your garment is natural; it's 100%, not 99%, biodegradable.
Why is bamboo so great?
First, because bamboo grows fast; it is the fastest growing plant on earth. It grows two inches per hour!
And bamboo grows everywhere--it can grow at sea level all the way up to 12,000 feet.
There are more than 1,500 species of bamboo. It grows on every continent. It likes it wet or dry; bamboo can handle from 30-250 inches of annual rainfall. The only places it doesn't grow are the North and South Poles.
Bamboo stalks mature in just three to five years. Most commercial tree species take 25-70 years to mature, which causes a bit of a problem-it's hard to replenish them at the same rate we cut them down. We need and love our trees not just for shade and beauty, but for the life-giving oxygen they release. Which is another reason to love bamboo clothing. A bamboo grove releases 35% more oxygen than the same size stand of trees. That's more air for us to breathe!
Bamboo shelters and feeds lots of critters; koalas love chomping on its leaves.
Another reason to love bamboo: It grows an amazing root system. Roots reach out into the soil to help prevent erosion. Imagine a net under the soil, holding everything in place. When heavy rains pour down, they don't let go. (In places where clear-cutting has been practiced and which don't have strong root systems, the soil is washed away-causing catastrophe and landslides.) In fact, bamboo keeps twice as much water in the watershed than commercial trees, often eliminating the need for irrigation and sprinkler systems.
Bamboo might be thought of as an environmental healer of sorts. It can grow on scarred or deformed landscapes and it can be grown on damaged soil.
Plant some bamboo. It'll bring back the soil. It will produce a crop every single year. Just one 'clump' of bamboo can produce over 200 poles. If you harvest the bamboo, the roots not only live, they sprout new shoots again and again. The topsoil stays intact and the land is healing.
